Sunday was a beautiful day outside and inside at Shir Hadash. It was fun to see how much some of our students have grown and to see families we've missed over the summer. In addition, we welcomed a bunch of new students to school. Marisa, Ariella, Ellie, Margot (coming new to 5th grade next Sunday), Aaron, Devin, Max, Rachel, Merrick, Elsie, Aidan, Coleman, and Logan are our latest additions to the group. We are grateful for the new faces.
The Meet-the-Teacher experience on the first day was a hit. It gave the teachers an opportunity to share something about themselves and their plans for the year. It also gave parents a chance to socialize a bit and schmooze in the halls. So much fun to see (think carpools). Along those lines, you may note that an email was sent out to each grade on September 4th. This email was sent to the entire class and teacher. This way you have a convenient way to get in touch with your class if you so choose. You may also email me and request a school roster at any time.
Save the date of Sunday, October 12th. The Education Committee is planning an after school activity (lunch?) in the sukkah, to help fulfill the mitzvah of eating in the sukkah.
