School Bulletin 9.29.13

By all accounts, the Shir Hadash Sukkot Family Ed Day was a great way for us to welcome in the new school year. We had bagels and coffee for parents, lots of schmoozing, and plenty of running about by both parents and students. Teachers added new students, new registration forms were filled out, and chairs added to classrooms. Rabbi Eitan and Mr. D. (Adrian Durlester, our new music director) are well on their way to becoming a team, and the school is a big part of what they do. We are blessed. Thank you all for joining in on fun in the sukkah.

This Sunday, September 29th, marks the beginning of a more structured day for Shir Hadash Sunday school.  The Drop Off will begin.  Please make sure to drive all the way to the back of the parking lot and around to the front doors. This will happen before 9:15.

Students in grades 3-7 will go directly to the sanctuary. Rabbi Eitan and I would love for parents to join us for services.  Attending Sunday morning services are a wonderful opportunity to model Jewish values for your children and it can be a very powerful experience.  Our younger students, in Pre-K through 2nd grades, should go directly to their classrooms. Parents may help them get settled in.

The education committee has decided to continue with the rule that parents of Gan Yeladim through second grade should park, come inside and wait in the center hall for your child/ren.  3-7th grades will be dismissed at 12:25 and may walk out on their own.
