Sunday School Bulletin Purim Report/Shabbat Pizza DInner

By all accounts, the return of the
Shir Hadash Sunday School Purim Carnival was a success! From the Pie-Haman-in-the-Face game (special thank you to our very own Haman, David Anes) to the Duckie game, and the Strong-Person ("he-man") test, the children must have been exhausted upon returning home Sunday afternoon.

The teen madrichim were led by Nat Arons, and gently supervised by Youth Director Carole Mostow and Education Director Emily Ascher.  Plans have been in the works since Margie Skora helped fundraise through a bake sale in December. The teenagers made preparations and plans for each of the games, and ran them on the day of the carnival. It was a great opportunity for them to take the lead in a school activity, and to have fun at the same time.

In other news, a pizza dinner is planned for our  Kindergarten through third grade classes. This Friday, March 1st, families of these children will join together at 6:15 p.m.  for a pleasant shabbat dinner followed by song at 7:15 p.m. Members will join us at 7:30 p.m. to start the official service.  Please rsvp to eddirector@shir-hadash.org if you are a K-3 family and would like to join in for pizza. If you do not want to eat with us, just come at 7:15 p.m., before the main service begins.

Take a look at some of the activities and smiles...

Lizzy at Havayah (8th -High School Class)
Something Fun Is Going On

Sunday, February 24th--Purim Carnival, 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Hellenic American Academy

Join in the fun with your children.  We will have a regular school morning from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Purim carnival complete with a Purim shpeil. The madrichim (teen leaders), led by Purim Specialist Nat Arons, have been preparing this great day for several weeks.  They have games and treats geared for boys and girls of all ages.  In order to make the day an even grander celebration, please send your child (and perhaps yourself) in costume.

Friday, March 1st-- Gan (Kindergarten) through 3rd grade pizza dinner and services, LCHS.

Please mark this date for a good time with families from the Shir Hadash primary grades. The children always have a great time helping Rabbi Eitan lead services, and who can turn down the opportunity to celebrate shabbat with a such lovely group of people?! More information to follow.
